Moffitt Sucks Customer Reviews and Feedback
H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center & Research Institute is a nonprofit cancer treatment and research center located in Tampa, Florida. Established in 1981 by the Florida Legislature, the hospital opened in October 1986, on the University of South Florida campus. Moffitt is the only National Cancer Institute-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center based in Florida.
Orlando angrily mentioned, "Moffitt Cancer Center all but sentenced my dad to death. Moffitt is the only comprehensive cancer center in Tampa and the only place where my dad who suffers from AL Amyloidosis can get a bone marrow stem cell transplant. Moffitt is out of network with my dad's insurance and in spite a willingness from the insurance to provide an out of network exception to Moffitt so my dad can get treatment, Moffitt has all but refused to see my dad. My dad's insurance assigned a case manager and she said she'd be happy to approve an exception for my dad to get treated at Moffitt if they reached but after months of waiting Moffitt never did. Moffitt is heartless and they care about money more than they care about the lives of patients in Tampa Bay. After much searching we were blessed to find AdventHealth Cancer in Orlando who has accepted my dad with open arms and is treating him."
Sterile Processing Technician (Former Employee) says"I worked at Moffit Cancer Center for another 1 year. There is poor management and when you address the concerns to upper management it is overlooked. More than one employee can address the same concerns and nothing is done about the issues. During my exit interview with Human Resources they didn’t seem to care one woman refused to write down my concerns and overlooked what was going on in my specific department. I would not recommend this facility to anyone. Do not waste your time. Cons: Favoritism, no work life balance, poor management"
IT (Current Employee) says"Untrustworthy management. Low pay. Divisive culture. Subject matter experts opinions are not listened to. Lying management. No growth opportunities. Cons: All"
RN Staff Nurse (Former Employee) says"The essential work staff is great, until the manipulative management interfere with great nursing. I recommend management to start working an actual 12 hour shift as a nurse so that they develop empathy for there staff. I don't know why the white lab coats have them confused what they actually are nurses. Cons: Upper Management"
Staff Nurse, RN (Former Employee) says"The nurse manager at MIP showed strong favoritism and favored certain nurses over some. This was felt by many employees. She also did not support the nurses when they would come to her with concerns involving patient safety. For example: One patient waited for 4 hours for her procedure as the physician's flight was late getting in. The physician had gone on a trip/vacation with his girlfriend. This has happened numerous times and the physician was never counseled. Patients waited for hours on multiple occasions."
Shuttle bus driver (Former Employee) says"Poor supervision poor supervisor supervisor do not know how to direct the company you got supervisors are parking attendants but don't have their CDL license to drive a bus there very unorganized supervisors are not familiar with DOT not familiar with rules and regulations not following guidelines when it has to do with d o t they are very messy and and not organized do not have insurance on job"
Supply & Distribution Clerk (Former Employee) says"Moffitt has great following in the public eye. However internally the old school mentality in leadership is greatly impacting the changes needed for the future of better patient care and a greater outcome."
Patient Access Representative (Former Employee) says"The company was not a good fit for them or me. I am glad I am no longer working for them. Management unfriend and cold to employees. The company was not the right time to be working in that environment."
Regulatory Specialist I (Current Employee) says"Constantly stressed and there is no such thing as work balance for mothers. It is the biggest lie ever told to employees. Managers stop mothers to work from home when the CEO says it is allowed. Cons: broken promises, mothers cannot work from home, and constant stress"
Certified Medical Assistant (Former Employee) says"Worst Management ever! Sexually Harassed daily,No Teamwork Daily, No Breaks or Full Lunches,Very Poor Attitudes daily, Under Paid,Long Shifts,Over Worked,Poor Management and HR dept. Its all about who you know here. Expert (Former Employee) says"Executives take all the money and they use the rest to pay other extremely poorly. Most manager are idiots who get their positions through contacts and connections. The state must stop sponsoring this joint and close it down. Cons: Waste of tax payer money"
Management Assistant (Former Employee) says"I worked with very caring people. Very committed coworkers."
Patient Access Rep II (Former Employee) says"Never let you take time off when you have a sick child that you need to take to the doctors office, even if you have the pto time available and give proper notice. Cons: Human resource isnt helpful when problems arise. Bullying in workplace."
Postdoctoral Research Fellow (Former Employee) says"They only care about money, and they treat their workers like a number not a person. The culture was very clicky and non-inclusive. The lab equipment was often broken or over booked because there was too many lab workers and not enough equipment. It frequently interrupted my experiments."
Research Analyst (Former Employee) says"Positions are held for favorites, therefore without qualified employees things never improve. This is so true regarding middle management and HR. Human Resources are the worse. They pretend to care about employees but its just a façade. Cons: They seem to have an eye for hiring the wrong people, even when they come with known reputation of not being a good fit, they are hired anyway."
Office of Technology Licensing (Former Employee) says"Managers got their by being friends with the right people, or by outlasting everyone else in their department. If you are smart, ambitious, and hard working, you will end up doing all the work, and your boss will take all the credit. If you are irreplaceable, you are unpromoteable. Cons: Management"
Certified Medical Assistant (Former Employee) says"Not an inviting place to work. The place is very unorganized. There have been a variety of incidents with things being out of place or just plain wrong most of the time due to poor MANAGEMENT and COMMUNICATION. Employees have disgusting attitudes and are very sneaky. The company does not seem to have a real backbone. No real plans from when certain things go wrong in the clinic, everyone just seems to go crazy, flip out and panic like childeren. Pay is NOT GOOD and should be more due to the hard work you there and a stressful, unorganized environment. So glad I don't work there anymore. Wouldn't recommend friend by the way. Cons: Short breaks, unorganized, very poor communication from peers and management"
patient care tech (Former Employee) says"Hard work managers need ethics training unfair work load no room to advance"
Manager (Former Employee) says"Too many old timers deeply entrenched in their roles. Dictators at best and never willing to help. Throw people into the job with little to no training and then expects miraculous results. Facilities leadership worst ever seen, a lot of great people wasted because management would not support them. Terrible place, better think twice."
None (Current Employee) says"No comments managment is very bad. The Contractor does not care for the employees, always working for the profits. They love to cut the pay and the hours of the employees to make the profit for the sodexo. In my they should leave and kicked out from the Moffitt as the other organization has done. Cons: Short breaks"
Department Administrator (Former Employee) says"Chair of the department mocked both mine and my wife's faith and belief in God on several occasions. He laughed at me and belittled me and my wife numerous times publicly for our belief. This was very disturbing and made working at Moffitt extremely stressful, painful and an intolerable experience."
Former Employee - Ctlc Specialist says"I worked at Moffitt Cancer Center full-time for more than 5 years Cons: Poor management, if you get on your managers bad side you are stuck forever, the wrong people get promoted, also if someone gets put on the favored list their errors and mistakes gets overlooked or less of the same punishment given to if you were in the bad list. Maybe it was just me but my supervisor micro managed to the extreme. Also for tuition reimbursement you have to be majorly favored by management to even qualify. If you're on the bad list the company will give you some excuse that says "your degree is not the business need for the company". I was with the company for over 4 years and got on the bad list during year one and ever since then they treated me like dirt until the day I finally decided it was enough and I quit the company without a 2 week notice. The secret is.. everyone wants to work here but once you get in and learn about the company and how poor management is, you want to leave the company asap. Good luck"
Current Employee - PCC Representative says"I have been working at Moffitt Cancer Center part-time for less than a year Cons: Treat employees unprofessional, low salaries, spying on employees, lack of directions, no decent conditions to work in the office, no office supplies, there is not even a cup to drink water, let alone a cup of coffee, these are the little things a company can offer to keep morale high. A very simple cup of coffee."

Former Employee - Clinical Research Coordinator says"I worked at Moffitt Cancer Center full-time for less than a year Cons: Management and Physicians had to much Leigh- way. Unprofessional, loose tongues and gossip. I overheard open discussions slandering job performance. In actuality there was no reason to create these outcasts because they had done nothing wrong."
Former Employee - RN BMT says"I worked at Moffitt Cancer Center full-time for less than a year Cons: Condescending employees, and management. Terrible work life balance because they expect you to study on your days off. I graduated with honors yet when I go into work I get quizzed and if I don’t know the answer and made to feel like I’m a complete idiot. If I ask a question I get laughed at and told “you should already know this.” Parking is terrible and you have to pay for it."
Former Employee - Environmental Services says"I worked at Moffitt Cancer Center part-time for less than a year Cons: I worked there for 90 days and always felt unappreciated by staff the persons that trained me didn’t practice what they preached they are big on dust mopping but neither of my trainers advise me of that also the team leads only care for their kind as well as management the Spanish people look out for themselves and the Haitians look out for themselves the hire all of their family . Overall I feel I wasn’t given a fair chance there"
